Main Features
1. Mirrorless design for light, compact, go-anywhere portability, with a high-quality metal body that reflects the concentrated imaging power inside. Available in black, as well as silver.
2. Newly expanded range of 8 creative Art Filter functions, including Diorama and Cross Process. Other creative tools include i-FINISH, a new Picture mode that captures subjects with exceptional clarity and presence, and HD movie and high-quality PCM audio recording.
3. New accessory port enables use of a detachable high-definition, 144,000-dot EVF Live Viewfinder with 100% field of view, or an optional adapter for an external microphone. A new HDMI Control function also enables camera playback operations to be controlled via the user's TV remote control.
4. Live Control icon display on LCD monitor for easy, intuitive selection of camera settings, and Continuous-Tracking AF for easy focusing with moving subjects.
Following the July 2009 introduction of the OLYMPUS PEN E-P1, the OLYMPUS PEN E-P2 is the second Olympus interchangeable lens digital camera to comply with the Micro Four Thirds System standard.
It's predecessor, the OLYMPUS PEN E-P1, has already earned an EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association) 20092010 "Best Product" award and worldwide acclaim for its high-quality, SLR-class performance and imaging capabilities, distinctive design, and compact form.
Like the OLYMPUS PEN E-P1, the new OLYMPUS PEN E-P2 complies with the Micro Four Thirds System standard, using a mirrorless design to deliver true SLR-class performance and image quality in an exceptionally compact format. Similar in appearance to its predecessor, with a metal body whose solid feel and distinctive styling reflect the precision and quality of the technology inside, the OLYMPUS PEN E-P2 is available with either a black or silver finish.
In response to feedback from many E-P1 users, the new OLYMPUS PEN E-P2 is being offered with a newly developed high-definition, 144,000-dot Live Viewfinder that attaches to a new accessory port on the camera body. An optional adapter can also be mounted on the port to enable external microphone use.
Shooting functions include an expanded range of 8 Art Filters, including new Diorama and Cross Process filters, and a new i-FINISH Picture mode to capture subjects with exceptional clarity and presence. Like the E-P1, the OLYMPUS PEN E-P2 also offers HD movie and high-quality PCM audio recording, plus the ability to apply Art Filter effects to movie recordings.
Outstanding SLR-class image quality is assured by a 4/3-inch, 12.3-megapixel high speed Live MOS Sensor and a newly developed TruePic V image processing engine.
Moving forward, Olympus will continue to expand its Micro Four Thirds System product lineup, and the growing market that it serves.
